My friend {Ree} proposed the idea of having a fancy purse week. Of course, I love projects and I love purses {and I love Ree} so I was totally in. Last week, we themed our days and snapped a photo each day. Here is a glimpse of our fancy purse week…
Last Saturday there was a little baby shower celebration for our dear friend {Sabrina}. {Sabrina} is having a little boy in May. A few girls decided to throw her a very small baby shower with a Pacific Northwest (PNW) theme. The location was perfect – Lot 3 in Bellevue. Think hipster plaid, mason jars, comfort food, eclectic flowers, twine, mustaches, and coffee beans. Here is a glimpse of the baby festivities…

Hello makeup Monday! I love talking about makeup. I wanted to share with you what it’s my own personal makeup bag {the makeup purse inside my purse}. This is different from my morning makeup regime; these are the essential items I carry with me daily. I will share my morning ritual in another future blog post. In the meantime, here are the my favorites that I can’t leave the house without…
Rosebud Salve is the essential of all essentials
This is a cult favorite and a must have of all lip balms. This classic vintage lip balm has a rose perfume fragrance and comes in a lovely vintage tin. It’s the absolutely best.
Nars Orgasm Blush
Orgasm has been voted the best blush of all time! It can be described as a peachy-peach with sparkle. It truly is a great balance of peach and pink and I love the flicks of gold shimmer. This particular blush looks absolutely wonderful on all skin tones. Depending on application, it can be light with a sheer shimmer, or if applied more generously, it can be give a pop highlight and give the cheeks a warm subtle glow.
I don’t leave the house without my Stipple Brush
The stipple brush is something that I carry with me everywhere. I always want to make sure my makeup is blended evenly. The stipple brush allows for that airbrushed look and helps take away the shine in the middle of the day.
Do I go pink or red?
A girl always wants options for lip color. Some days it’s red and some days its pink. Two of my all-time favorite lip colors are Mac’s Pink Pigeon and All Fired Up
Sometimes your eyes just want a little bit more sparkle.
I usually carry one or two eye shadows with me for mid-day or end-of-day re-application. One that always is with me is Mac’s Tempting. I love Tempting so much and have been using this color for years. Just look at – it’s so pretty. It’s a lustre metallic bronzed brown with sparkle. Tempting has always complimented my eyes the best!
Well that’s what’s in my Tory Burch makeup bag {thanks Santa}. More makeup talk next Monday. xoxo – SADV
Hello lovelies. My new favorite obsession is to purchase fun little toys on Ebay. I recently purchased a fisheye lens + a wide-angle lens for my iPhone. I love them so much! To continue project 2015 I decided to dedicate this week’s photos to the fisheye lens + haiku filter. {see wk. 001 } The fisheye lens is an ultra-wide angle lens that produces strong visual distortion intended to create a wide panoramic or hemispherical image {source: wiki}. The term “fisheye” was coined in 1906 based on how a fish would see under water. This project is all about experimentation and playing around with different filter effects. Haiku is vintage filter that can be found with the Picfx app. With this app, there are over 100 filters to select from. You can seriously get lost filtering your photos with Picfx. I thought Haiku would be a good pairing with the fisheye. Here is a glimpse of my week…
Victoria Beckham is so Posh. Vogue just released their latest installment of the “73 Questions” series and Victoria Beckham was the next chic victim. I love her, she never breaks “character”. She is fierce. What I love so much about this series is that it sheds a humanizing light on the star. Her responses are so Posh Spice – sassy and direct. Her responses just kept getting better and better. She even gives us a glimpse of her relationship with her lovely husband David Beckham and reveals the reason why she never smiles {she’s smiling in the inside}. So Posh!
hello. My first @instalove for this year is Shoes of NYC {@shoesofnyc}. This Instragram is all about documenting the shoes of NYC and the interesting people who wear them – obviously. Love NY and all the fashion that comes with it. Shoes of NYC is amazing. Follow to see the latest shoe fashion trends. #shoelove
Music Monday has retired and I’m excited to announce the launch of makeup monday! It’s pretty self-explanatory. Today I want to talk about the cat eye and my favorite favorite liner. I love doing a simple winged liner on most days. This look was popular in the 50’s which added the perfect dose of glamour to make any eye pop and look chic. Once you get the hang of it, it’s very easy to create and you can select from eye pencils, liquid liners, gel liners, and creams. You definitely need the right tools.
My favorite liner in the whole wide world is… Tattoo by Kat Von D
I love Kat Von D’s Tattoo liner. It’s amazing. The brush tip is so perfect and helps give that effortless application with its superfine tip. The high-pigment fluid liner allows for incredible fluid application that will glide across your lash line. It definitely takes practice, but Tattoo makes it much easier for you to apply and rock and winged eye look. It’s perfection!

Hello. A new year, a new photo project. This year I decided to do a new project {because a girl likes her projects} called Project 2015. Project 2015 showcases a different photo filter each week. To kick off the new year, I’m showcasing the standard. I discovered this app called SimplyB&W. I love this app because it doesn’t just create black and white photography; it creates dramatic black and white photography. The user interface is minimalistic and there are 6 different filters to select from. The standard is one of the 6 filters. Here is a glimpse of my week…
