The Wedding Graphic Suite

November 16, 2019 – The best day of my life.  I’ve missed you. For the past year, I’ve been planning a wedding – my own. I must say I really enjoyed the planning process and part of that process was doing all the graphics for my wedding – I wouldn’t have it any other way.  For those that know me, I have a love for astrology. The stars were certainly aligned when my Sagittarius self met my person, who happens to be a Leo. We are both fire signs and very compatible.  He also has a love for astrology at an even deeper level.  Astrology played a very important role in the design of our Wedding invitation graphic suite.  I would love to share it with you….

The Wedding Invitation Suite

Three words to describe the theme of our wedding Modern | Vintage | Romantic and with a touch of Beastie Boy. For those that know my husband – it makes sense.  All black and white graphics with gold touches.  Since astrology is something that my husband and I are both into we wanted to incorporate our zodiac signs into the invitation and design a unique tarot card with symbols of our own personal relationship.

The Wedding Graphic Journey

The Save the Date was our teaser and hinted at the theme of our wedding. Myself pictured in a dress and stilettos with my husband in a full on Adidas track suit.  We love the juxtaposition.    The Save the Date tells our story how it all started back in St. Anne’s when he was in 1st grade and I was in Kindergarten.

The Rehearsal dinner invite carried the same theme of Black and White. On the front of the invitation were our zodiac constellations of the Sagittarius archer and the Leo the Lion.

I really loved designing every detail of our Wedding graphic suite.  It was so personal and so us!  For those that live in the Seattle area,  we worked with a local printing press to print our custom invitations – Perfect PressThe quality was amazing and the results were that luxe feel that we desired.  For both the Save the Date and Rehearsal Dinner invitation – we had our custom design printed by Artifact Uprising. All design by SADV | design .

My best friend is having a baby. This will be her second child and it’s a boy.  I was honored that she asked me to design her baby invites.  For the look and feel, she wanted a California Vibe, palm trees, and a clean modern palette of greens and gold with pops of color.  I told about the brand A Beautiful Mess.  She took a looksie and said that’s exactly the look and feel that she wants.  For privacy, I did change the names and details.  The first one was the invite design she selected and the other ones were the options I wanted to share with you. Please comment and tell me which one you like best. Here is a glimpse…

I have been busy with wedding graphics lately. I have another Save the Date for you, but this one combines my two favorites – Fashion + Graphics. {Kaven} found me through my freelance work and had a vision to create a Save the Date invitation with a high fashion edge.  Him and his fiance took several photography looks with a high fashion vibe and the idea was to use these images as a series for their wedding suite. Loved working on this project. They really made my job easy with their amazing photo. Here is a glimpse of the first round of options + the monogram options…

Save the Date Infographic

Hello.  I’ve been working on some amazing projects and have been incredibly busy the last few months. I wanted to take time to share one of the projects I have been working on. I partnered with a couple {Lisa + Jonathan}. They came to me with an idea to create a unique Save the Date. The idea was to create an infographic and make it unique and very special to them.  Everything element of the design was collaborated together – fonts, stats, diagrams – all of it. I loved working on this project. It’s very unique and I wanted to share with you. Here is a glimpse…

PNW Baby Shower

Last Saturday there was a little baby shower celebration for our dear friend {Sabrina}.  {Sabrina} is having a little boy in May. A few girls decided to throw her a very small baby shower with a Pacific Northwest (PNW) theme. The location was perfect – Lot 3 in Bellevue. Think hipster plaid, mason jars, comfort food, eclectic flowers, twine, mustaches, and coffee beans.  Here is a glimpse of the baby festivities…

Sara + David // photo shoot

A few weekends ago, I had a photo shoot for my friends Sara + David.  They are getting married in 2014!

Sara: born in Maine | obsessed with Pinterest | architect

David:  born in Washington | loves the Seahawks | firefighter

We wanted to photograph on a perfect Seattle autumn day for their Save the Dates and we did. The original photo shoot date was a major fail – we were dealing with one of the worst Seattle storms ever.  Here is a glimpse of my favorite moments from the day and the Save the Date options…

The Geisha Bride

Who doesn’t like planning parties? I love love love to plan parties.

A friend/coworker recently got engaged. We are so thrilled for her. She is getting married in Japan and having a very traditional Japanese wedding ceremony. A few of us decided that we need to throw her a surprise bridal shower.

The theme of this shower – Geisha! Everything Geisha. Party planning will be commencing soon because we only have a month to plan this fabulous Geisha party. As a freelance graphic designer, I love to do print design and that includes invitations.

I found this photograph that was taken from a fashion show. It’s so perfect for the invite with the blend of East meets West. This Geisha looks fierce and inspires the look and feel for the invitation. The final touch was adding was ombre effect.

Details of the party were removed to keep this a surprise for the bride-to-be.More photos of the Geisha party to come in February.
