graphics // dance usa dance

Hello lovelies. June has been a really busy month. I have been working on amazing projects.  Before I share the projects I’ve been working on this month, I wanted to go back to March and share dance posters I worked on.  I partnered with a a company called 5678 Media group to design billboard size posters for a dance competition called DANCE USA DANCE – it’s basically like the show “so you think you can dance”. I had provided them two options. They selected the one above. Here is the one that wasn’t selected…

They liked the poster design so much that we did the series in various colors. Here is a glimpse…

Hello. My life has been so busy, but I’m so thankful for all the amazing projects that I get to work on.  I love all my clients and love being a graphic designer. I really do.   Since my last blog, I did a little traveling to both Spain & Portugal. I hope to get to my photos soon and share all the amazing places that I was able to see.  Our world is such a beautiful place! Anyways, I’m a little off topic here…

For my last project, I partnered with Jeni Castro, founder of Bronzed Bunny and the project was to create a Bronzed Bunny Look Book for potential franchise opportunities currently in California. The Bronzed Bunny specializes in organic tanning, sugaring & body scrubs. I wish we could have a Bronzed Bunny in Seattle. It all started with Jeni’s amazing photography + combination with a mix of typography.  You can view the complete look book here. Here is a glimpse of the Bronzed Bunny Look Book…

makeup monday // janelle monae

Hello! It’s been a while. For the last two months, I have been incredibly busy. I’ve missed you!  Over the weekend I finally watched the move Hidden Figures. I adored it.  You must see it. Briefly, it was about three brilliant African-American women at Nasa during the 60’s who served as the true brains behind one of the greatest operations in history – the launch of astronaut John Glen into orbit. One of the brilliant minds was played by Janelle Monae.

Janelle Monae is An American Singer, Actress, Songwriter and Model. I absolutely love her beauty. She is so stunning. Love her classic features. She can pull off any pop of color with her beautiful skin tone.  In 2012, she gained the title of COVERGIRL.  She is my new beauty crush! Here is a glimpse of some of Janelle Monae’s editorial shots…

Spanish artist Javier Martin combines neon light with glamorous fashion portraits. LOVE.  He is a visual artist whose sensual series entitled Blindness showcases a provocative image of a female depicted by society unable to look beyond the surface of appearance caused by consumption and technology.  His series explores the contemporary standards of beauty and iconography. Here is a glimpse…

I absolutely love Portrait Design and I especially love when it’s an iconic figure expressed in a modern and pop fashion.  Jordan Andrew Carter is a London-based artist and Illustrator.  He explains that he takes a tactile approach to his work with the juxtaposition of intricate hand drawn pencil work against mixed graphic media. His work is so amazing and eye-catching.  The colors are so fresh and magnificent. I would hang any of his portraits in my home. Here is a glimpse of his work…

graphics // hatch show print

Hello. It’s been a moment since I blogged. I miss you all!  I wanted to share my latest project with you.  My client {Shawn} wanted me to create a custom Hatch Print Show Style poster.  For those that don’t know Hatch Print – Hatch printing originated in 1879 in Nashville, TN by William Hatch. Hatch ran the famous print shop – Hatch Show Print.  Country musicians to magicians and various rock stars have all turned to Nashville’s historic Hatch Show Print to create amazing showstopping posters. Hatch preserves the art of traditional printing.

I created the same design for my client {Shawn} but varied the options through color.  He pretty much left the design totally up to me, but just required the day of the dead skull and an outline of the state of Tennessee. All info and details were provided. Here is a glimpse of the four options I provided for him….
