A New York Story.

I spent the Last 5 days and 4 nights in New York with my dear dear friend Keysha. This is where we went, where we ate, what we did and who we saw…

thursday

We arrived late Thursday night and found our way to our home for the next few days at the edge at Chelsea on 240 West 15th Street. This is where we stayed.

friday

Every morning we started our day at the Chelsea Market for delicious coffee and a simple New York breakfast.  Friday was a little crazy with wild wind and rain. We wandered Chelsea, the West Village and Soho for hours in the rain and took breaks in cafes and found ourselves back at Chelsea market. Luckily this was the only rainy day on our trip.

Later Friday night, we celebrated {Keysha’s} birthday at CATCH in the Meatpacking District. For those that watch Bravo’s Top Chef, the executive chef for CATCH is former contestant and winner of Season 3 Hung Huynh. The food was absolutely amazing. I would recommend sharing. We ordered the Mahi Mahi tacos, Empire Sushi, Lobster Mash Potatoes and Crab Spaghetti. It was amazing.

saturday

Saturday morning we woke up and did our normal New York morning “routine” and headed to Chelsea market for breakfast. We spent late morning at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) held at the Javits Convention Center. Here is a glimpse of the highlights of the show…

After ICFF we headed to the West Village for a late lunch at Rosemary’s. It was a perfect lunch and the weather was amazing for strolling, people watching and exploring. We even made our way to the High Line and had a celebrity sighting – Leo Dicaprio. We were surprised that no one else saw him.  I apologize, I could only get a photo of him from behind, but i swear it was him.

Later that night, I reunited with my friend {Jerome}.  We spent hours walking and talking in the Meatpacking District and the West Village.

sunday

Sunday was another day at the Chelsea Market and quick reunions with our friends {Ann} and {Lynn}. We had lunch with {Ann} at Bergdorf Goodman and took a quick stroll through Central Park.  We then headed back to the West Village for some window shopping and cupcakes at Magnolia’s Bakery. While walking back to our Chelsea home, we passed by Carrie’s Sex and the City home. We also caught up with local {Lynn} for a quick chat late Sunday afternoon.

For our last night, {Keysha} and I had a special dinner at Morimoto in the Meatpacking District. The food and ambiance were absolutely amazing. Food of course, by world-renowned Chef Masaharu Morimoto and restaurant design by Tadao Ando.
